YALARI

Yalari is a not-for-profit organisation that offers, quality, secondary education scholarships at leading Australian boarding schools for Indigenous children from regional, rural and remote communities.

Since 2005, Yalari has been providing Indigenous children from regional, rural and remote communities across Australia the opportunity to receive a full boarding school scholarship for their entire secondary education.

Gypsy and the Sea share Yilaris belief that education is key to generational change and a brighter future for Indigenous Australians and for Australia as a whole.Β  We acknowledge and pay respect to the original and ongoing owners and custodians of this land.Β  We commit ourselves to actively working alongside indigenous people for reconciliation and justice.

In 2018 Yalari had 187 students on Yalari scholarships nationally and an alumni group of 313 studying at universities, working or undertaking further training. Yilari is deeply committed to the ongoing success of our national program of scholarships, student support and post-school opportunities.

The Dare to Dream Project is a movement to empower women, transform lives from poverty to one of Opportunity for women in developing countries.
We all know extreme poverty is an increasing problem in many parts of the world, with women and children who are most affected.

One of the most effective ways of eliminating poverty is to empower and invest in women in the affected communities through the power of microfinance.

Why? statistics show us that β€œWhen you invest in one woman and she will bring 4 people with her.” (1)

Through Opportunity International Australia, small loans are provided to women-led businesses in underprivileged countries, so they’re able to generate income to meet the essential needs of their families, including food & education for their children.

In most instances, 98% of the women who receive the small loans, become successful in their venture that they voluntarily repay the small loans. These repaid loans are then passed on to another woman, and another cycle of transformation from poverty begins, creating ripple effect for lasting change.
